My name is Patrick Schmid, I was born in 1970 and have lived in Birmensdorf/ZH since I was two years old. For this reason I have a high emotional attachment to this village "on the sunny side of the Üetliberg".

I successfully completed my apprenticeship as a carpenter in 1991 with a federal certificate of proficiency and continued my education during the 19 years I worked for the Baur carpentry company in Birmensdorf. A further federal diploma was added. I have always enjoyed working as a carpenter and under the guidance of Mr. Baur I was able to learn an enormous amount about my nature-loving profession. I was also able to contribute my own ideas at any time and thus help shape the carpentry business.

My philosophy:

For me as a carpenter, precise work has absolute priority. In my work, I always devote myself to the fascinating material wood with great attention to detail and with great pleasure, whereby the clientele can count on perfect and timely work.

My goal is to offer the customer a tailor-made product at a fair price. I take enough time to discuss the needs of the customers together with them and try to make even the most unusual wishes become reality.

I currently employ Sebastian In-Albon, 2nd year apprentice.

The carpenter store:

The company was founded in the forties of the last century. Over the years it has been able to build a loyal and satisfied clientele that appreciates the work of the small, fine and efficient carpentry.

It was with great pleasure that I was able to take over the business as part of a succession plan on 01.01.2006. It is a matter of concern to me to continue the proven work of the former carpenter's workshop Baur, but at the same time to realize new ideas.
